90 GXE Automatic Transmission

Can anyone provide me with the particulars of changing the fluid in a 90 Auto GXE? I've got 88k miles (yes low!) and need to do some maintenance. Thanks.

You can take it someplace and have it flushed on a machine (probably better), or you can do the drain/refill method. Flush is more expensive, but will get more crud out. Refill method is cheaper, but doesn't really "flush" the system. You have really low miles on yours, so you might be OK with the drain/refill method.
Basically, if you drain the tranny, you'll only get about 2 1/4 quarts out. Replace it with the same amount you took out, drive around for a while, and repeat. After the 3rd time, you'll have basically new fluid. This method is kind of a pain, so if you have the cash, I'd go with the flush.

and both are potentially fatal to a trans that has never had it done before

I'd go with the drop the pan, new filter, drain and add method and not the 100% flush method.
