beat a bmw 330ci last night
late model 330ci. me in left lane, took a quick look as i was overtaking him slowly at about 60-65mph. slowed down when i saw him so to even it up sort of......and then we both kind of took it off slowly up to 80 or so and after that we both kind of simultanously nailed it . it was all maxima to about 115mph. at that point i was about 2 car lenghts ahead of him so i slowed down cause the area is sometimes infested with cops and the bimmer just flew by me at what looked like 130's thinking i guess, race is still on.
i honestly thought they have more guts than that. i went into it, thinking ill either loose or be even. he probably had the same feel, if i had lost to camry or something. but then again, you cant honestly know if he nailed it alllll the way. still fun

If you want to be ****-retentive, yes it is illegal and stupid, but most of us have done it before. Considering the conditions (stretch of the highway was straight for at least a mile, dry pavement, literelly NO traffic) I would say it was completely OK. I'm guessing you have never driven in Germany. As for illegality, I could say alot of stuff about your Y-pipe.
As for violating the terms of the agreement? I rarely read them and I've noticed there were plenty of race stories around here, so it may have been just a formality. If im wrong I am sure the moderator will correct this by deleting the thread.
As for BMW not trying, that maybe true as I have noted in my earlier post. A little bit of research from http://www.caranddriver.com shows this:

Those numbers reflect zero advantages over maxima.
Have a nice day.

...Yes, the 330i only managed to beat the 328i by 0.3 second to both 60 mph and the 1320-foot mark. (It took 6.1 seconds to reach 60 mph and 14.8 seconds to run the quarter-mile at 95 mph vs. 6.4 seconds and 15.1 seconds at 93 mph for the 328i.) But look beyond these oft-quoted benchmarks for the real poop.
