The clip for the overhead sunglass holder on my 2000 SE just broke off and the holder just swings in front of my rear view mirror. I had to jam papeer in the hole to get it to stay. Anyone had this problem before? Anyone have any idea where I can pick up a new assembly for pretty cheap or am I looking at a lot here? Thanks in advance.

make sure you get the 02+ max ones. I heard they are better design and it's cheaper. anyways dave will know about it.

 

like NYC mentioned, definitely go for the 2k2/3, you don't need to push a lever fwd to open the holder. You press upward and it "clicks" releasing the holder.

Mine broke months ago, but i pushed out the metal spring thing against the other side and it's holding it nicely. Can't even tell anything is broken until you try to open it.

That was a dumb thing for nissan to do. Of course plastic will break if you keep bending it... Shoulda put it on a hinge. Idiots.

 

Yeah mine broke too!! I have it rigged to stay closed, haven't built up the courge to spend money on a replacement yet!!

 

Yeah like they said, call DAVEB for the 2k2-2k3 replacement. Mine broke about a year ago and I replaced it with the 2k2 design. I had to trim some of the ceiling fabric for it to fit, but it's really easy.

What do you mean by trim? What did you have to trim?

 

When you take off your sunglass holder, the space left in the ceiling needs to made a little bigger in order to fit the new holder. So you have to trim some of the ceiling fabric away. I used an x-acto knife.
No biggie. I'm sorry but I don't remember how much it cost me. It was about a year and half ago. I think it's around 12-20 bucks. Not sure though.

 

haha not related to the sunglasses thing but i broke the glovebox twice.. the lil plastic thing that's holding the bottom is crap. Replaced it once n broke again on the second time i just use big glob of plastic welds to keep it on. Haven't break again since.

 

Well I never taken it off to know what you mean, so I'll have to wait till I try it!! But did it look factory when once it's installed?
