Headlight Removal 2k2 - 2k3 DATA DOTS

Here is the big question, and I would prefer people PM me or email me with the answer rather than make it public. Has anyone been able to successfully remove their Headlight after the DATA DOT recall. I have a set of DDE's that I need to install but not sure how the headlights have to be removed.

no probs dohcser

Skyr, even if theives knew how to properly take uninstall the headlights that have had the recall done, they wouldn't waste the time taking 'em out that way. It's not something one can do in a matter of 5-10 minutes.

The data dots recall isn't the same as the anti theft kit on Courtesy. The one on Courtesy is just a hood lock kit..a bit useless IMO considering these ppl just use a crowbar or something to steal the lights.

Qmax..what's your e-mail address?

I posted a thread about this exact topic a while back but no one responded with any useful information. I want to clear out my HIDs with the clear Malibu lens from Home Depot but I already had the DataDot recall done last year.

nissan5788...if you could send me the info to six3gtown @ yahoo dot com I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

SKYR, just call up your dealer & tell them that you need the data dots HID recall done. They shouldn't have a prob. doing it b/c you're in the NY area.

On a related note, I was waiting for the ferry @ Lincoln Harbor yesterday when I saw a black 2k2/3 GLE roll by with missing headlights. Very depressing sight.

Hey - I'm willing to help!

Although i wrecked my max, and am out of the nissan family for now - i had an 03 max, and i had taken the lights out after the data dot install. I have no problem heling you out with the removal. Why don't you call my cell, and we'll set something up (973.277.6541). Getting them out is the easy part, getting them back in takes some patience, and some skill - be prepared to spend a good part of the day on it.

(Sorry to hijack.) How do you know if the Data Dots has been done or not? (Can you tell by looking at the lights themselves?) I have a 2K2 GLE FYI… (I suppose if not done, I should probably call the dealer and see about having this done?)
Thanks

Sorry to bump an old thread, but would someone mind PMing me or emailing (yanks0114 at hotmail.com)me instructions on how to remove the driver side headlight off of a 02 Maxima with data dots?

My dad hit a deer and shattered the driver's side headlight. I bought a replacement, but can't figure out how to remove the headlight.

Regarding proof of ownership, although I rarely post here (the maxima is my parents' car), I've been a member here for many and I'm very active over at solaraguy.com.

Thanks in advance

Someone should just post it. No one is going to steal the Maxima's reflector style headlights in 2010.

yea I thought the same thing. The secrecy is pretty stupid. There are far more expensive headlights that can be stolen.

I dont wanna break the rules So i will pm you.

Same situation as everyone else. Hit a deer at 10mph and it took out my right hid. Got a new assembly but have no idea how to access the side and rear bolts. A PM would be much appreciated ASAP!

Thanks.
