Hey guys/gals
Can the internals from a new auto trany be used in our trany housings? Since it's next to impossible to find anything(and yes I know about level ten)to do with our auto tranys.
Is the layout still the same?

Yes you would, but the problem is, I don't think it's plug and play. I know for sure on 4th gens, the tranny controller is tied into the ECU. That's why I haven't seen people swap thier old auto's in favor of newer ones. Now if you were converting to 5-speed...then yeah, no problem using a newer tranny because they are basically all the same except for thier little improvements here and there...and maybe a bellhousing.

Nah
Even thou I would love a manual car, in the max it's not practical. Im glad I can even fit in the car. That's why i laugh when people tell me to buy a new car. Im huge and the only cars that will fit are max's. So why not keeep this one?
My next car will be stick. How about bullet proofing this trany. I could have the internals made and close up the gear ratios. Then its just a matter of putting it back together.
HAPPINESS->Turbo,NOS,CLOSE RATIO AUTOMAGIC!
