How much should I expect to pay for window tinting.....

Damn.. I'm gonna go there..
the last place I called and asked about the Metallic tint wanted $380 for it..
"regular" tint was $269...
whatever.. I didn't even respond to the sales guy.. just walked out of the store.
If they're gonna be rude enough to demand a price like that, I'm gonna do the same to them.

Well I'm in Buffalo. Its sunny here alot during the summer and hot too. A little cold in the winter but the summers are just like anywhere else. I don't see too many cars here with tint so I expect to get ripped off. I call around today and post back.
Mike, got my MAX tinted in Buffalo... i checked around at a few of the Buffalo places, and actually ended up going to a place called "Rainbow Tint" in I want to say in Amherst. $120 for all windows at 30% tint (llumar film). They do are really good job, and for the price you can't beat it. Let me know if you have any questions as I've had two cars tinted there. I would suggest checking there. BTW, what shops have you priced?

oh yeah, forgot to add also that they'll tint the windows whatever percent you want (5, 20, 30, 50, 70) if illegal (the front are the only windows to have a limit, which you probably already know) they simply mark on the reciept that the customer knows is illegal (for liability I'm sure)
tinting
I'm in colorado and I paid $140 for metallic 27% (the legal limit here) all around and on the sunroof. it had water bubbles for awhile but they went away and now it looks really nice...came with the lifetime warranty too
I paid 150$ for mine in NYC...
I knew prices from a few spots and everyone usually charges 120-180$, some places more if you want a certain kind of film or color..
I have 20% all around, (except front windshield, that would be very illegal
) Rear windshield is in like 5 pieces, no bubbles but I don't like how they did their measurements, the film is too far from the edge of the window when you roll the windows down it looks a little gay from the inside. The driver side door is also messed up.. Make sure where ever you go they give you a warranty againts bubbles or pealing.. and, 50%, that's almost nothing, look at 93 SE's pic, that's probably 50% or even less.. his looks darker in the pic then it really is
Yo 93 SE, I can see piece of my car in the back of that pic, haha, I still have to get mine developed.
If you want to remove your own tint, you can get this stuff from Pepboys or Autozone, it's special tint removal crap, you spray it on the film, and it should peel off. I started tinting my own windows in January, was coming out okay but I got sick of the cold and everything and had to remove the film off the few windows I did. I picked the corner of one, and just pulled it all off.. there was a whole bunch of that sticky **** on my windows but I took that tint removal spray, sprayed it on and used an ID or a credit card to scrape it off, came off easy..
Tint places remove tint as well, don't know how much they charge though.
