changing color of clock, radio, climate, etc...

SO i changed the color of the ring around where the key goes into the ignition and the clock so far. for the clock I colored regular celophane with a blue sharpie and stuck it over the lcd screen. During the day it is pretty difficult to see the time during the day with this current set-up but it is really cool at night. is there any better way to do this so I can see the time, and in the future, the radio display in the daytime? do they sell blue cellophane that would look better instead of coloring the regular cellophane in? how have you guys doen this before? and also can you make the clock and all the displays white? how do you do that?

nope i have been playing with it forever! i have not found a etter way i just leave them white, i did all my buttons in my car blue and the sceens white looks alot better than with blue screens did.

i do not know which wire it si on the 5th gen but you can cut one of the wires leading into the clock and it makes it bright all the time. if it is bright al the ime it is alot easier to see.

get red cellaphane (not sure if spelling is right) or get clear cellephane or tape and use a red marker. its hard to match, because you need the perfect amount of red to make it look white.

--red cancelles out green, so it will look white-whitish

i got some red cellophane and it didnt quite look right and i used the red marker but still... I just made the blue look better by pulling it tighter around the lcd and coloring better. looks alright now i guess. i also did all the radio controls and that looks pretty sweet as well but I couldnt figure out how to get into the climate control to change the color... anyone got a write-up on getting in there. I just couldnt figure it out and i didnt want to break anything.

to make the buttons white -
open the whole thing up and remove the green rubber condom thing from each bulb.

thats going to make them look yellow/or the same color as the guages

p.s. i made my buttons look blue bu using a sharpee marker and color in the clear plastic around the bulbs so the light it spreads is blue

so gents, let me get this straight, all we have to do to make everything change colour is either put in a different colour cellophane or pull of the condoms? by everything i mean the entire centre console.

i took off the condom from my ignition light and coloured the bulb with a sharpie, but i noticed that the colour was slowly fading. i guess the only full solution for this would be to change the bulb altogether?
