not all 2003 maximas are covered by the crank position sensor recall

took mine into local nissan dealership , its a 2003 max se, and they said the cps problem did not affect my car and they ran my vin and sure enough, mine is not affected.

I thought _all_ 2002-2003 vehicles with the 3.5 were affected.. guess not.

Neither was mine. The tsb/recall only applied to a certain VIN range.

Nissan sent me a recall notice today...too bad I'm way ahead of them and already requested and had it performed like 3 months ago!

I went to the dealer to get it done, but turned out mine wasn't covered under the recall, so the dealer had to eat the $100.00..OOPPSS

I had my 2k2se replaced. Tech told me the altima's used the same ones and he had only seen the 2.5 L 4 in cold weather towed in.
He never saw a Max fail with it.
