I'm happy once again, Exhaust finisher tip replaced :-)
I went down to the local autoparts store and found myself the (almost) perfect exhaust tip to replace the one that was missing. I have an OE muffler and that tiny 2" stock black tail pipe just doesnt cut it. I've been shopping for exhaust tips for quite a while now, and I needed one that was the right inlet (2", as well as a rather large outlet to fill the gap between the bumper cutout, and no longer then 8") and I wanted it to be resonated.
This one is a Monza tip, that is 7" long, double chrome (just like the OE style), 2" inlet and 4" outlet. Cost me $42 after taxes. Unfortunately it is not resonated. But other then that, it is the perfect tip. I trimmed down my OE tailpipe with a hacksaw and a dremel. Then I heated up the inner end of the tip with a road flare to expand it out, then using oven mitts, i slipped the tip over. All I gotta do next is spot weld the thing to make sure it stays on.
It sounds a little different alright, but only if you are sitting behind the car. Inside the car I notice no change in sound. The thing looks awesome. It fits inside the quarter moon cutout of the bumper cover extremely well. I'm quite pleased with this, even though it doesnt make the car go any faster.
