Warpspeed VS. Cattman Y Pipe

I know that this as been talked about before, but I cant find it. The warpspeed is like 100 dollars cheaper. Anyone have opinions on this?

You probably didn't see the other threads, but I would recommend strongly AGAINST the Warpspeed pipe. If your very concerned with price, look into the Budget Performance Y-pipe. They're running a sale on it right now. Their website is down, but you can still call them.

If you want to spend a little more, you can go with a Cattman Y or even some headers.

HotShot

Why just get a Y Pipe when you can get the HotShot headers with a Y Pipe for $599 Not only will you get the Y Pipe but an extra 20HP to your wheels.

I heard the y pipe alone produced about 20 HP. And also wont headers make it sound pretty loud?

Let's not debate headers vs. Y-pipe. That's a separate issue, and if he's concerned about a $100 difference, then of course $300 would be an issue for anyone.

My Warpspeed Y-pipe fit like crap, and still does. Even worse, the customer service has been spotty. Many people share one or both of these issues after doing business w/them.

Well let me tell you all my main goal. I want to keep the stock muffler, I just welded 2 magnaflow tips on and I'm happy with the way it looks. I have done the GAB mod. What I am looking for is just a little sound, something like the sound of a G35 or maybe a tone louder. So I was thinking a y pipe. I dont want to get carried away, and I dont race my car, just looking for a little sound. So if anyone knows of a way I can do that without a y pipe info. would be appreciated. Thanks

i have no experience with the cattman pipe, but the warpspeed bolted up just fine to my 2000. the tone is subtle and i like it, and the performance gain is slight, but noticeable.

i'll have to take a ride in a car with a cattman pipe to really be able to tell...i may swap who knows

I just received my Budget Y-pipe yesterday and am getting it installed tomorrow. It looks great! It cost C$250, complete with gaskets, plus C$15 for delivery (came by UPS). I am not sure if they bill in US$ or not but at current exchange rates the Y-pipe, excluding shipping) works out to about US$180 - $185. I understand its the best bang for the buck and is probably quieter than some.

So in the end (not to get too OT here) did you return that WS B-pipe or keep it?
I read that he wouldn't cover the cost of your S&H, but if you were gonna get a full-refund for the price of the pipe, I would've at least returned it, then bashed him here after!

I just ordered my Hotshot Headers with Y Pipe and Underdrive Pully from SWA. Can't wait to get it and install it. They say with the headers/y pipe and the undersive pully I could be looking at about 25 to 30 hp gains. That will be good enough for me performance wise!!!

OH boy!!!!!! Everybody has a problem wsp, but it looks like everyone who has the problems don't have a 2k-2k1 like Max20se00 has. Well I would like to say something, I have a 2k with the wsp ss y-pipe and it has had one easy problem (also a direct fit). And it also been on my car for a 1year & half. The problems you may have is the hanger mount that comes around the y-pipe and on to the car, but it a easy fix, just put a rubber hose on the hanger and the problem is fixed.!!!!!!!!

After that the only problem you will have is, what to do with the money you saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK.....

I order my WSP, got it in a week and installed it in a couple hours with perfect fit (no hanger hose needed, no washers for crossmember space and no extending o2 sensor wires!!!)....no problems here so far.

Yeah, the hanger is positioned completely wrong both horizontally, vertically, and is too far up the pipe. Retarded. I think I used a really long bolt and torqued it. Even with that "adjustment" the WSP pipe is not designed well, b/c it still hangs way too low.

As far as the B-pipe issues, check the other thread about that!
