i just finished replacing my ignition wires and plugs on my 1992 maxima with 180.000 miles and still pushin hard.. anyways... while i was replacing the spark plugs i noticed ididnt have the correct spark plug socket that has the rubber washer inside to hold the plug while insterting... so i utilized the old spark plug wire tip ( where the plug and the hard rubber section meet) and i used it to install the new plugs with out them fallling down on the engine block.. furthermore i cut the excess wire and kept that piece for later tune ups.... any way if you find this usfull then glad to be of assistance... if not.. well.. soory bout that... but hey we are all maxima owner s and lovers here so enjoy the ride....... peace love and hair grease!!

Thanks for the tip. most of us are wusses and just buy pre-made plug wires though...

I need to replace mine, but I'm too lazy and don't wanna pay $100 for a new set.

Read the post again Matt!

This is a good idea. I use a piece of fuel line over the new spark plug to start it threading in. It's easier to feel if you're cross threading it. Which is real bad with an aluminum head.
