How to blow my trunk open

what would i need to blow my trunk open from just pure pressure from the sub. I have a Diamond Audio 12" dvc,. Its the M6 MKII(equivelent to a 12 w7) And a polk momo amp running around 600+ watts rms because of the Capaciter added to hold the voltage at ~13.2 volts. I just am wondering if its even physically possible to blow open a trunk because the Latch is Hella big so i dunno.

i doubt you can do it. hitmanse has a beast of a sub (brahma 15) and his trunk still holds. the bass IS however, flexing his entire car!

you have nothing to worry about. 13.2 is a very low voltage for the car running.

Def not going to blow it open. Also in SPL the MKII is not equal to the W7. I am also not a JL fan, just stating the facts.

Ok, I held off as long as I could before replying to this "thread" WTF does blowing your trunk lid open accomplish other than creating a need for a new latch and other misc parts that would be damaged in this process. This is the dumbest thing I've read in the audio section since I've been on this site.

Had to flame this question, was just asking for it.

Its not possible. Though my sub does help flex and even break a few things, its not going to blow the trunk lid off That wouldnt accomplish anything anyway, if some1 actually did that in front of me I would literally laugh my *** off. Good imagination though

thatd be friggin hilarious, Honestly i highly doubt its possible, but you can always try. Just keep adding subs and amps until you do it. if you manage, ill give you a freshly baked cookie

I'd imagine you would break the rear glass and all the windows before the trunk lid "blew off"

polo's system is weak, he needs a ported 10" soundstream tarantula @ 400 watts instead of his setup

Little OT. But since we're on the subject of big systems, some of you guys who are running 1000W+ still on stock alternator? Second batteries or anything?

i can't say whether yes or no, so i won't make my statement just yet, but what are you running.

is the 2k watts also including efficiency or are you using power usage vs. power output.

I have a jbl 1200. benched to put out 1350 pushing 2 12'' RE SExxx's, a old school kenwood KAC-821 putting out 300 and a old school alpine amp putting out 200. And i know all of these numbers are true and rated at 12.5v which my car never drops below. So thats pretty close to 2000 wouldent you say?

With respect to what may or not be true on your ratings that wasnt what I was referring to. Your stock alternator can not physically produce the amperage needed for 2000watts. Regardless of brand,rating,etc..just simply not possible.

If he is positive that his voltage is never dropping below 12.5 than it must be getting the current from somewhere.

Still not the case...Voltage doesnt equal amperage. With that being said maintaing 12.5 is hardly difficult.

I understand what you mean, i have a 95 amp alt stock and my jbl amp alone pulls 115 amps (i believe thats what it is). With a simple upgrade to a excessive amperage 200 amp alt it will be possible tho.

hell, even me when running at almost full volume dip into the low 12's. and when i'm idle, HA...11.6-11.8 not what i like to see.

and that's with 1500 POWER consumption, figure what...1200 actual watts? i dunno. stock alt and the 5f cap taht lord knows whether that's just a nice paperweight or not. let's not bring up cap discussions, as that can be a totally new thread.

Simple formula for figuring your current draw would be:

Total amp power rated X 2 = total input wattage

Total input wattage = Current draw (in amps)
-------------------
Battery Voltage

IE:

2000watts X 2 = 4000

4000W =333.33Amps current draw.
------
12V

That's assuming that the amps are 50% efficient and that the voltage is at 12V. If the amps are more like 70% efficient and the power is rated at 14.4 you only need around 200Amps.

What's the rated output of the 5th. gen Max alternator anyway?

You guys are putting way too much effort into a thread about a guy who actually wants to find a way to open his trunk with enough pressure generated by his subwoofers.

You will shatter glass first with the amount of pressure needed to blow your trunk open - you are lookin 'north' of 4 separate batteries and 4 monster amps(2500rms)

why dont you just crank your current system and open the trunk from an alarm remote and pretend since its for poser purposes anyways

What kind of point are you proving with your trunking blowing open?
