Yet another style climate control
from looking at all the images most of the stuff is in english however one of the newspapers in the playstation picture is definitely of a different language. by the looks of his name it was german-ish or rushian-ish so i'd say somewhere in europe or russia if they got those newspapers there.
the only other confusing part is he sells so many different things its actually hard to tell where he's from. he had either a chinese or japanese coin and a bunch of other items from different countries. im him and see what he says.

I've seen a few of those in JDM nissans that get imported here - outta skylines, laurels, A31 cefiro's etc. It's one of the non-digital aircon units, although judging by the temp markings, it's from a non-metric country so it's not OZ/Kiwi, euro or ruski - possibly from US or Canada?
like the others have said, it's gotta be somewhere LHD and somewhere using Farenheit, but I dont know any more than that
I've seen a very similar unit in the UK. It had auto,1,2,3 but was mirrored somewhat and was in C. Like this, it also did not have the frest vent lever.
At any rate, no this will not work in your car without lots of extra bits and wiring

If I remeber correctly (I sold my Pathfinder FSM) this was the auto climate control that came in Pathfinders around at least up to 1993 (I had a Pathfinder but mine had manual control - I just remember seeing this in the FSM). It came on the SE and LE models.
The whole point of the temp scale is to work with the auto setting. You set the desired temp, and then auto controls the fan speed based on that temp...it's like the thermostat in your house, "on" is on all the time whereas "auto" works in conjunction with the temp setting. Sorry if that's pretty basic for you people that already know how to use auto climate, but the question was asked.
As for the F scale, yes, very strange, and no it would not be Canada, we are officially converted to Metric, however in practice we tend to use Imperial for some things, but cars are sold with metric measures. It could be England, they're officially metric too, however sometimes event o a lesser extent from Canada, I imagine just from all the years using Imperial, all the baby boomers have to die off. If you see police chase videos from England, speed is in mph.
It's a nice looking unit though, well layed out controls, which are well marked. Actually it's almost identical to layout as the manual H/VAC unit which is nice. I think I prefer the digital one, however I can see this having advantages for ease of use. The digital is great once you figure out the different ways in which it can be set, but if you're one of these people who's VCR is flashing 12:00 this one looks so much better in terms of ease of use.
Oh well, at least it's not something like I-drive. Grab the funky mouselike control, select "climate control" in the menu, then select your tempterature, drive off the road 'cause you're looking at the screen, and then your hand on the i-drive control, 'cause you're not good with computer, being an older guy who are the only people who can afford the car in the first place.

Definitely, this style came on earlier Pathfinders. I just checked www.edmunds.com and brought up a pic of a '95 Pathfinder. There it was. Funny how the Maxima had digital climate control since '89, but the Pathfinder didn't get it until it's redesign in '96. If I remember correctly, the Pathfinder was more expensive, too.

Back before the redesign (in 96) Nissan had used the same basic Pathfinder since 1987. They were designed to be off-road vehicles. My 95 Pathy blew the doors off my current 2000 Infiniti QX4 when it comes to off-road capabilities.
In 96, they made them more of an on-road utility vehicle. I think they probably didn't use the digital climate control prior to 96 because it didn't go along with the "outdoors" appeal of the Pathfinder at the time. They use the same logic with the current Xterra -- no leather, no climate control available. It's the "outdoors" model that the Pathfinder used to be.

you're correct...it came in the older style PF.

The LE models are probably the most rare of the 94-95 Pathfinders. Most people have XE or SE models.

I must be going senile, because I had a '93 SE and it didn't have it. You're right - it only came on the LE model. You're SO right about the earlier Pathfinder being an off-road vehicle. The '96 redesign turned it into a big station wagon in my opinion (once they lost the fender flares it was over for me...). Just as an aside - that Pathfinder and it's underpowered V6 was the worst gas guzzler I've ever owned. I've owned a '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited with the 5.9 litre V8 (360 cubic inches) and I swear, it got better gas mileage than my Pathfinder.

You are right about the gas guzzling. My 95 was a 5-speed and I got around 20 mpg. My current ride is a 00 QX4 (AT) and I just went to Boise and back (about 800 miles r/t) and got around 18 mpg. My mom's 3/4 ton extra cab Powerstroke 4x4 Ford with a Banks Turbo and Jet Chip does better than that.
What I do for a little brand loyalty
Well, next I think I am going to get a Frontier 4-door s/c longbed in a 5-speed. Then rent a minivan when I want to travel.
