for the past week whenever i turn to the left or right there seems to be a weird clunking noise coming from the front. I think its the cv boots, but i'm no mechanic i'm just guessing. anyone got any ideas before i take it in and get jacked by the dealership.

btw i have 52k miles, and i'm dropped on teins and gr2's but i havent done any suspensions mods in about a year.

 

It's easy to tell if it is the cv boots. Just get under your car and see if either side is ripped. In the future, if the boot is ripped, replace it before the knocking sound starts. If it is already making the knocking sound, you need a whole new cv shaft.

 

grrrrrreat, if i need a new cv joint how much am i lookin at just for parts?

 

Usually parts and labor is ~ $100 per side for a remanufactured cv axle.
