I think someone was following me.....

I could just be paranoid, but a riced out older model civic was flying by me in the left lane. I didn't think anything of it and took my exit. At the light after the exit, I look in my rearview and there he was right behind me. I continue home and he is behind me the whole time. I go past my street and turn down the next street just in case. At the intersection, I'm supposed to turn right, but make a left and again, he follows. Just to be doubly sure, I basically make a giant circle around the neighborhood and he is behind me the whole time. He doesn't ride my tail, but kinda far away. So finally, I get on the nearest highway and sure enough, he's behind me. I open it up and get off at the next exit and he's gone. Still not sure if I'm just being really really paranoid or if that guy was following me home to jack my HID's later.

If that happens again, get right and put your hazards on, let him go by, then scoot behind him long enough to get his tag just in case something happens.

99% he was following you. Why? That's another question, but it'd be pretty sad if it was because of HID. That crap gotta stop.
That happened to me a few times. Best way to lose him is just drive in circles a little and then head to nearest police station. Experience has shown, they get lost 2 blocks before the station. Unless, of course, you want to have some fun with the guy. Than you can pull over and if he does the same, take something heavy and beat the **** out of him.

Wow! That would be pretty serious if he wants your HIDs.

I am a Surveillance Expert and if you think you are being followed dont try driving in circles, you could put yourself into a bad situation you cant get out of, like a dead end street, if he is looking to carjack you, you just helped him out.

First thing dont go home, stay as far away from home as possible, try to get a physical description of the vehicle and driver if you can and if possible get a plate number.

Next go to a police station and pull in go inside and talk to someone at the desk and give him the information you obtained. Dont call 911 about someone following you, they wont do anything about it, but if you drive into the station you will get some help and they are more likely to help you out.

By No means do you get out of your car and try to beat the Sh*t out of him with your mag light mod, because a gun will more than ruin your day.

And for the next few days, keep your eyes open, if they want your car they will look for you again and may be in a different vehicle, so pay attention.

If you don't have a garage, get a car cover so they won't know it's a Max and be tempted to steal the HIDs.

The other day I was getting into my car and there were these 2 punky looking guys hovering around their Accord and they had the hood open. I got suspicious bec. they didn't look "right' and as I started to pull away I noticed one of them check out my car through his side view mirror. So I wrote down the model of the car, the license plate and also he had a for-sale written on his car, so I wrote that number too. As I was driving away I called that number to see if the car was for sale, or already sold and the line was no longer in service, which made me even more suspicious. Anyway, I ran my errands and a few hours later on the way home I decided that if he was still there I'd call the cops or stop a cop and tell him I noticed them walknig up and down the block looking into peoples' cars. Luckily they weren't there when i came back, but the next 2 nights I asked my sister If i could park in the garage instead of her, and she let me. Definately keep your eyes open for suspicious activity and get a license plate if you can!

That happend to me once as well. It was a Chevy Cavaleir with a wing and a loud exhaust. Anyways, I didn't think much of it untill he started to tail me onto the highway. So I decided to let the VQ "breath". Opened it up and flew down the highway at disclosed speeds. He kept up for a bit, untill I hit 180(KM/H). Then I started to pull away rapidly. But take note, make sure you cover up your car or something. Just hide it for a while, reason being that about a week later a car exactly like mine (2001 Beige i30) got their rims stolen, and body keyed. They tend to get impatient when they can't get what they want asap; so they move on to other cars.

... something similar happened long ago on my acura days and I indeed pulled into the nearest police station and all I gotten was 'if you are being followed again please stop by NEXT nearest police station'

Best thing to do is get to a Police Station, let them handle it. CCW is not for you to play cowboy, only to be used in a life and death situation. Get to a Station and let the cops deal with them.

Happened to my cousin when I was with him going to the theater (he has an 03 GLE). We noticed and called up our friends who were waiting for us to arrive at one of my friend's house. I called them and told them not to come out and stay inside. We parked the car a bit further down the block on purpose. It was 7 of us, and these 2 guys in a Ford Focus. The Focus parked around the corner. We went inside my friend's house, and I told them all to follow me out the back door.

We exited the house quietly from the backdoor, went into the house behind my friend's backyard and came out on the block parrallel. We walked around the block and the Focus was empty. As we approached the corner, we saw both of them walking up to the car, one of them crouched down the other was looking around.

So instead of bum-rushing the fools, we walked casually up the block as if we didn't know what was going on. They tried to make it look like the Max was theirs. As soon as we got close enough to them, my cousin f**cking flipped and punched the living hell out of the guy who was the look out and then just started choking his friend.

It was 7 of us guys, averaging over 6 feet in height. And it was these two rather frail asian guys, who were no taller than 5'7. They ran away pretty quick, meanwhile my cousin was just yelling at swearing at them.

Good times.

Dang, why didn't I think of that. Thanks everyone for your input and suggestions. Unfortunately I don't have a garage, but I do park the Max next to the house with a couple motion sensor floodlights. Oh well.

Me Too!!! Me Too!!!

Some punk in a POS Civic was tailing me one night. I thought I was just paranoid, but as I am pulling into my gated community I notice that the guy was still there. So I drove past my house and tried to lose him. I easily out ran him, but he always found me I decided just to pull over to the side of the road and wait. He passed me up, flipped a b!tch, creaped past me and then just left

Fortunately my Dad's new truck doesn't fit in the garage so I got his spot. But I was up half the night looking out my window and checking on my car anyway.

Turns out that I think the guy lives in my neighborhood because Ive seen a car very similar to his around a few times since.

My cousin didn't exactly do the smartest thing in the world by attacking them. Then again, it was 7 of us, so it's not like we couldn't handle them.

it's all good, they deserved the azz beating. Although I would have had two of the 7 guys hold them down while the rest of us finished the job instead of letting them get away haha

Why didn't you hold them there until the police got there? You could have potentially busted a bigger ring of thieves.

From what I see here, Maxima owners tend to be proud of their vehicles and I for one would never mod my car with another Maxima's mods, that's what makes us proud, we did everything ourselves and I think most people on here know and respect that. It's unfortunate to hear about all those stories (I've felt paranoid too) about people who start with throw away cars and try to make them into something that isn't even as fast as what we got from the factory. No doubt, our Max's are FAST. The way I look at it, if anyone in a pea-shooter, no matter how dressed up, wants what I've got, they're going to have to CATCH me and if they catch me at night they should make damn sure I'm not around when they decide to pull their gutless crap or that's how they'll end up. Gutless. I feel no pity for anything that happens to people who steal from others. What better excuse would you ever have to absolutely demolish someone on the highway from 3rd to 5th or even better, in person as they are breaking out your window to see what's inside? Whew.

I'm not really that much of a **** about this, just safely venting some frustration. Thanks.
