p0430, I know, I know use the search

Just need some quick help.
P0430
It reads catalyst efficiency below threshold bank 2.

I finally got tired of the dealer and got an Actron scanner at PepBoys.

Do you guys think I should replaced the o2 sensor at the front bank, by the radiator??

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey man I have the same code! The light has been reset twice by machine and once by the battery terminal method. Have had it on for about 4 months. I am at a loss as to what to do. I don't think it is an 02, it may be a cat.

maxcosmo,
I am not sure what to do either, they tell me to replace the precat which is located by the radiator and that the whole problem will go away.

They also want to charge me 800.00, dollars.

I think it is another mis-diagnosed code by the ECU, and they need a new patch, but won't admitted.

Maybe someone else can help us.

Just because the ECU is reset doesn't mean the code will be gone....If the problem is still there the SES/CEL will be on constantly....or until you get rid of the problem.

I thought nissan and every other car company, BY LAW, had to replace those at (8 years/80,000 miles).

The nissan dealer claims it is my new rear section, not a precat or anything else related to emissions.

I may just buy a oem rear section and have the dealer do the rest, hopefully under warranty.

I would like to know if the 0430 and 0420 codes are related.
