FrankenCar catback & Stillen rear valence question

Installed Frankencar Carback last night, it’s a very well made exhaust, but the rear tip sit inside the rear valence…doesn’t stick out far enough. I drove the car last night after the install and the rear valence was so hot you couldn’t touch it. My question is I know some of you are running this set up anyone had a problem with it burning the valence?

Thanks

Maybe you could lower the muffler with different hangers.

Yea, Its not so much that it needs to be lower its not touching the body kit, It would seem as if the tips need to come out more a little pass the rear valence.

Do you have pics of this? It's hard to tell in the angles used in pics on Frankencar's website.

I would think that the heat coming off the tips would cause some discoloration of the paint over time.

On there website they show the tips passed the rear valence, but that not how mines sits. have no way to host pic

Harmbone2k2 has the Frankencar exhaust. I think he had to move some of the exhaust hangers or something like that for it to work for him. Maybe he'll chime in.

I hope he does, because I can't be the only person with this problem.

I have the magnaflow tips welded on and they are quit far into the rear valence. The next time I go somewhere I'll see how hot it gets for me.

I have pic but no way to host them, on a good side note the exhaust is beautiful every piece of it. Is very quite, at ideal it sounds like a stock 350Z. Once the car warms up I no longer hear it. My Injen intake is louder that the exhaust. The only problem is the tip don’t extend pass the Stillen rear valence, It gets so hot after about 15 min of driving you can touch it. I took it to three exhaust shops over the weekend and no one wants to touch it

I talked to Harmbone2k2 about this issue. He said that his bolted right up and fit perfect. All he did was tighten the exhaust hangers to make everything a little more sturdy. I don't see why one of the muffler shops in your area couldn't add a piece in and extend everything out. Good luck.

Yea but does he have the Stillen rear valence? The exhaust shops are saying there is no place to extend the piping without having it affects other parts of the system. They’re afraid that it will touch parts of the underbody & vibrate

I wouldn't lower it, you'll end up banging it against the axle or suspention when you go over bumps.

The best bet may be to have the tips cut off the muffler and have them add some pipe to extended them back some. If you end up doing that get some advice as to where to go in the SE forum, you don't want some tool doing this you want a very good welder.

They don't want to mess with it because it's stainless steel.

Get a measurment of how much longer you want it and start from there, we'll find someone to do it. Jay, Jason, Bags... someone in the Atl group knows who can weld SS. You may end up having to use new tips but it's better than F'ing up your valence.

In the mean time I'd swap the stock muffler back on.

Check 2k2whitemaxi's site. He has the Stillen rear with Frankencar. They are pretty spaced out though.

He has the Frankencar, but it looks like only the muffler, not the entire catback. Another b-pipe might make a difference in where his muffler sits compared to SMX??? I was considering Frankencar and also Stillen valence. I'm interested in how this is gonna turn out...
