Rebuilt Speedo Sensor ??

My 91 SE has been suffering from intermittant speedo problems - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt, sometime it jumps around.

I have had the speedo sensor out to clean the contacts and take a look at it. It doesnt appear to be serviceable. And I saw the list price -ouch.

Does any one carry a rebuilt unit? Anyone have a used one?

Thanks fellas.

Are you sure its the sensor???? The reason I ask is I had the same problem with the speedo, I replaced the whole console with a used one an it works fine now.

I'd like to think its the sensor, I have read that they do go bad. I dont want to go into the dash just yet. I have also heard that a bad ground behind the console could be the culprit , but I dont have any other odd problems at the dash, which led me to think its the sensor.
