Okay I drove the car sunday night and parked it home. Then monday my dad drives and the check engine light is on. We dont know when it came on but just know that it was monday because I drove home that night and I would of noticed that light in .01 seconds. So anyway, we come to a light later and it stalls smoothly, no shaking or anything, A/C running on 4. then come up to the next light and stalls again. I thought it was a stick shift for a while. I enjoyed it to that point until he told me the check engine light is on too. Came home and parked it and havent used it again, but the light is there. Anyone knows how this happend or what may caused it, What should I do, I really do not trust the damn dealer, they might tell me this code comes up and this and that, Is there anyway for them to prove which codes came up? The car is always treated well, never harrassed. just occasional hard pull off to scare people but very rarely. 97 with under 40K miles. Please help me guys.

try autozone, they should be able to pull your codes for free

 

The link has nothing but codes, I dont know how to get my codes and I dont know what all that means, I'll try autozone.

 

sounds like a maf problem

 

Okay well I had an ebay intake for over a year, just the midpipe and filter installed. 50 miles prior to this problem I reinstalled the resonator and left the intake only, and the car performed a lot better and slightly quieter. My air fuel gauges shows a slightly better response with the resonator on.

What could be wrong with the MAF?

sorry i read the faq's but i went too fast and just saw what the codes meant. I got code 01 02. MAF Sensor. So I started the car and checked for any vaccum leaks, and everything is fine. Then i pushed in the MAF harness in and the engine is about to stall, let go, do it again, wants to stall again. Then I checked and no engine light came on. So now what I did was the 3 wires on the harness were kinda close so i spaced them out and pushed the harness in firm and everything is fine now. So I'll go for a drive later and if anything happens again I'll let you know. Thanks a lot, I love this website.
