midst of doing clear tails

is it normal to have to reheat the lense and the backing in the oven to get them back together? I'm almost done... looks good, but friends dremel died after cutting out the first half, so i have to wait for a recharge before doing the left side.

yeah put them together and then put them back in for about five minutes to get the glue good and hot again. otherwise the cold glue doesn't really stick. pull them out and put the screws back in to tighten them up real good. post some pics after you're done!

here's mine.

done!

they're great, but its 12:02 AM... gf just gave me hell for standing outside with the flashlight so i could put it all back together, but ... it's finally done. I shouldnt have decided to start at about 6pm, spur of the moment kind of thing i guess.

I did the bake for 12min at 200F method, worked PERFECT. I kept a heatgun on hand just in case, but didnt need it for removal. Taped the orange/red lenses together and traced the shape onto tracing paper, and markered it onto the light cover. Used a dremel to cut it out (which died, so i had to let it recharge.. thus the 6 hour time period it took) and sand to make it fit snug. Used the heat gun anyways to head the inserts so they would mold and cool in the correct shape without any stress on the flexed position, and heated them back up in the oven to get them back together. Worked like a charm, nothing was difficult at all... just slightly time consuming.

The pattern doesnt match the inner white, but it looks fine best i can tell in the dark/flashlight; but at a later date i may do the inners to match completely.

Looks good, this week im ordering some front corner lenses to eliminate the orange from my black beauty altogether, along with the PIAA superwhite bulbs for both headlights + foglights, and a B&M short throw shifter ... at which time im gonna custom fit my MOMO leather shift boot to fit my car, so that it will look sexy threaded directly into the base of the shift ****
