gettng to the rear 2 left sparkplugs!!!
Now I have a 2002 Altima SE, not a maxima but from what I've been told
the 5th gen maxima has a similar intake design (same engine of course)
how the hell are you guys getting to these rear spark plugs on the
left side? my intake is right over the middle one and the far left one is buried
under a tun of crap. Dealership wants $96 to change them! I need
to put my NGK Irudium colder step plugs in to run my nitrous

ups nosed out Alti in Chicago... need to hurry up on my boost device installation. If its anything like Mitus V6s and Hyundai V6s, U will have to remove the intake manifold in order to get those plus out. Us 3.0s don't have that problem

Dude, welcome
. Pay the $96 it is worth it. You have to take the manifold off! And I am afraid the dealer is not realizing what they have to do....untill they do it. It's a pain in the A$$, but doable yourself. Just have them do it. But get a written quote....and when they come back with a $400 bill show it to them
. I'll try to find a thread with a write up on how to do it yourself....

I am a member of altimas.net but people over there don't use nitrous, superchargers,
turbos.
I'm not sure why, I see tons of 350z and you guys using big shiots
thanks to this forum and my350z.com i got the ***** to have this kit
installed
Well there goes another $90 into this damn install. Still gotta buy some
more accessories too. Oh well its worth it not to blow my engine.
Really need that fuel pressure safety switch.
heres my writeup

dude you are the man, I read that whole thing. VERY EASY with your writeup, that was cool taking the time to do that.
Also do you have to drain the radiator for this? i see you disconnected the radiator hose right?

thnx guys... yea i figured we needed one...
i didnt disconnect the radiator hose, leave that on... if you want to flush it.. and its about that time... it wont hurt...
also, its probably a better idea to use copper plugs, 1 step colder if your gonna juice it. I dont know if theyre available for the vq35 yet, when I had my nitrous kit in, it wasn't available by NGK yet.

Remove the 4 allen nuts from the front valve cover- that hold the spark plug cover in place. Remove the 10mm bolt from the individual coil pack on the front head, then unplug the connector or just lay the coils on top of the intake manifold- U can pull the coils out after removing the 10mm bolts. Then using a 16mm spark plug socket turn counter clock wise to remove each spark plug. Then install new NGK plats and turn the spark plug to around 12ft lbs- hard for me to describe till tight - some people are weaker and some are stronger. Rear head is similar- but there is no cover over the coils. If you have a strut tower brace, please remove it or U will not get the coils out. Get a long 3/8 drive extenssion- about 12" long, and using the spark plug socket remove the plugs. 3.0ls rock !
