Guys, I'm bored with my OEM shift **** !!!

I'm tired of the OEM shift **** and its look. I had my shift lever cut already so I need a unique and nice shift ****. Which would you recommend and why?

BTW, is the stock shift **** on the 99's leather? It appears as so, but I'm not sure. I would prefer an aftermarket **** that is leather and very good quality.

I have this one, it goes excellent if you have black leather int. the car is black also, I didn't use the silver ring. I also bought the black leather momo shift boot but it never fitted correctly. I bought both of them almost a year ago. I just ordered a shift and ebrake black leather boot from redlinegoods.com we'll see how that goes.

Id recommend staying away from the kinds with the set screws, they tend to come loose...

I love my AE shift ****. Nice touch while still looking stock. I bought mine from progear2000 [seller in nismos14 and Big D's posts] over a year ago, and shipping time was great.

yeah i got my AE **** from progear2000 as well, I loved it. I had a problem though, the "aluminum" (more like a foil sticker) started bubbling up and peeling. Then it eventually cracked. I don't know why (hot temp/cold temp maybe). I only had it for a few months and a few thousand miles. While I had it I loved it. I contaced Nello (aka progear2000) and he is going to try and get it replaced for me for no charge. He's a great seller and stands behind his sales. Anyone else have this problem of the aluminum coming up?

No, not at all. Sounds weird, though. I dont even quite understand what you're saying. The aluminum piece is glued, and it started coming loose? Then cracked on it's own or cracked from your hand putting pressure on it?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33703

Too bad the "R" is in the wrong place lol!!!!!

Do you guys think it's gay to put on a **** like this one because of the "R" in the wrong place?

momo

MOMO all the way. I've got a momo leather stitched **** and i offset the point to the left a bit and it is extremely comfy! I ordered a MOMO leather shift boot simeltaneously, after some deliberation i custom installed it (ill get pics some day if you want) to my console, it has a head piece that threads onto the base of the **** for a complete smooth leather look. SO SEXY

Gay to put a BMW shift **** on a Max? They feel great and don't have a logo on them, so no. But that one? With the gear pattern all screwed up? That makes it look fake and thus, cheap. I think that's more ghetto than gay ... like an Escalade steering wheel inside a Cutlass Supreme.

I found one I really like, but again made for BMW's. This one has no pattern, but than again it's...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7908618181

Would putting that one on be "ghetto"?

What up with you and BMW shift *****? Why not look into getting a nice Momo shift ****, there are so many to choose from.

yeah, i thought it was weird too. The aluminum is an EXTREMELY thin veneer adhered to the top of the ****. It started raising up in the middle portion of the aluminum section, not at the edges, not very much at first, but soon in a few places. Then, one day (it was during the summer in the sun) I went out to my car and it (the aluminum veneer) was cracked over one of the raised portions. It was an actual crack. I sent the **** off yesterday to see if I could get a new one or at least a discount on another one, as I feel this should not be happening on a supposedly "Genuine Nissan" part which was only installed on my car for a short period of time. If the **** is returned to me, I will post a picture of it to show what it looks like.

I bought my AE **** from Progear over a year ago. I heard stories of things happening with the aluminum part, like the numbers rubbing off. I brushed on a couple of coats of clearcoat, and everything's fine so far.

The AE is nice but other then that, MOMO is the best in my opinion and its really easy to install. takes no time at all... but get the boot or it wont look right.

I have an Ichibahn shift **** from the "wild" series. It feels great and uses set screws to stay in place. I have had no problems from the set screws or the shift ****...and its been on there about 6 months.

Here is a link to it at crutchfield (the gunmetal one looks brown, but it isn't). Click "more photos" for different colors.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-QnNbXvN...&display=L#Tab

They also have other accessories to match the shift *****.

and the o-rings around the top feel great

edit: a pic of mine on the car
