Electrical Gremlins...

Car : 2000 SE 5 Spd.

Car was fully functional all day long, I parked the car and went in for dinner.
Came out and turned on the lights as usual. In Doing so, all my dash lights went out, Climate Control/Radio/CD. However I did still have the function of the Audio part of stereo ( Meaning I could still hear it ).
My headlights still worked, Signals still worked and Keyless Entry still worked.
I was thinking Alternator, but I didn't lose power as I drove, things simply remained the same.
Nextly, When I turned off the headlights I got back the lights of the Climate control and stereo. My Gauges Remained non-functioning.

Anyone have any Suggestions???

Markus.

Did you check your fuses? if so you might have a short. tryin looking around for any cut wires, or wires that are touching metal.

definitely sounds like a blown fuse caused by a shorted wire.....or sometimes fuses just blow because they are already damaged or just faulty....check your fuse box near the driver's side dead pedal and the box(es) under the hood...replace the blown fuse and see if the problem reoccurs...
