I was lookin under my seats the other day
and i found this coax cable TV lookin thing.
Anyway I have power seats FYI. Does anybody
else have the wire under the seat? I'm about to
go get my TV and hook it up to the wire to see
if i can get better reception, hehe. We'll see.

Whoever had the car before you had a carphone in it at some time. It's for the antenna.

The previous owners of my max had a car phone in it and i saw the coaxial cable (and ripped it out too), but i think wat hes talking about is something else. I dont have heated seats or power seats, and i have a cable under each of my front seats (attached to the seat) kinda coaxial looking, still dont have a clue wat they are for

anyone no??

Just a guess

Did your cars originally come with a BOSE stereo? I was looking at the wiring schematic in my Chilton's manual and noticed that the rear speaker wires are separate and shielded going to the rear speaker on BOSE units. The wires going to the rear speakers (or the rear amp) on the Non-BOSE stereo is also shielded, but are shielded together in one according to the wiring schematic.

no this hasnt got anything to do with the streo i dont think. this is an aussie max, which came out with a clarion cd/radio. the wire is underneath the seats, and finishes up attached to the middle of the seats

I noticed a wire attached to the bottom of my driver's seat, in the center. It's not coaxial or anything, looks factory done. There isn't any wire on the passenger side. No idea what it's for.. I don't have power seats.

Figured out something new...
The cable runs from under the drivers seat
into the center console. I'll take it apart and
follow the cable to see where it leads.

I have power seats and the driver and passenger seats both have the same controls(forward backward, lean up down). On the passenger side there is only one wire connecting to the bottom of the seat, but on the driver there are two. ?????
