i'm new, be nice, i need to see if my setup will work

hi guys, this is my first my first post on here, and i know i'm gonna get chewed up, but i'm tryin anyways.

i just got my hands on a 2000 se, and i'm going to turbo it. looked at superchargers, but for the money, i'd rather do the turbo. i have nothing else to do with my time, and a sc is too easy.

my planned setup right now is:

precision sc-44 turbo,
presision intercooler,
precision injectors, prob 370cc cause thats what i see most,
tial 38mm wastegate,
tial bov,
upgraded fuel pump,
turbo xs 2 stage manual boost controller,
apexi afc
any and all other necessities.

thats stage 1,

after that, i'm going to upgrade my drivetrain and transmission, and then stage 3 is going to be building the internals.

my plan is to run 8lbs on the street, and turn it up to 11lbs when i go to the track. is that too much for a stock motor to handle? i need feedback, since theres not an import shop here, and noone else in BFE, TX has done anything like this.

my motivation behind this is noone else here has it. my roomate had the first turbo'd honda in town, and now i want to be the first turbo'd maxima.

just lemme know what ya'll are thinking, if i'm completely nuts, tell me.

Your best bet IMO is to just go with a PFI turbo "kit". It will require some massaging to fit right on a 5th gen, but shouldn't be that bad.

You can get one for $3900 shipped still:

Oh...there's MORE THEN ENOUGH challenge left in that PFI kit, trust me.

You'll be much happier working on getting more hp out of your kit, then reinventing the wheel and falling down like so many have done before you trying to build their own.

Don't let me dissuade you though, I'll be in your shoes soon.

heh,... I've been working on my setup for 10 months now, and I'm still not done. it's going to take a LONG time to do it yourself.

I'd run 10lbs at the track, unless your running race gas

so, there should be no problems internally @ 10 lbs? i'm going to run a relatively small turbo, so it shouldn't be a problem to spool quickly.

are 370cc injectors gonna be enough for the engine? i'm gonna upgrade the fuel pump, but i didn't know how big i needed to go.

any and all other comments are appreciated.

As long as you're tuned correctly 10psi no problem, however people have blown on far less and held it together for far more.

Depending on your system efficiency, ie heat put into the intake charge, you can probably push 12-13psi. After that, you'll need timing control, ie eManage or better J&S Safeguard, and a drivetrain to handle it.

To control bigger injectors, you'll need eManage.
