I noticed it on my SE cluster, but I was wondering if it was on the others. that would explain the "sport" lights on the back of it.

Yeah, my 97 GXE has it.

What do you mean "sport lights"? On back of the guages? Or on the back of the car (blacked out)?

Sport lights

Eric,

Take a look pics from my post last night: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.phtml?threadid=3155

I was looking at the back of the cluster gauge and I notice that some bulbs were left out, I'm assuming they are in the Jap spec maxima, basically one set of missing bulbs have the word "sport" on them. I'm trying to figure out what they're for. the missing buls go just under the tach.

Hey guys,

I took out the guages and noticed the same thing. A set of bulbs were missing. I thought that they were the automatic tranny shift lights. The ones that tell you if you are in drive or reverse...etc... Someone had posted something about guages a while back with a link of custom guage clusters that he did. He had a pic of the japanese guage cluster and it had the lights going down the middle. What do you guys think? Does anyone have a shop manual that might indicate what these lights are for?

check my post from yesrday.

the Middle lights are for the PRND21 auto shift. but there are a few resistors missing so I don't know how to get them working.
