Y-Pipe+2.5"+Apex-I=Help

I fanally got around to getting a y-pip from Warpspeed after having my 97 since 96. My setup is the y-pipe, stright pipe, 2.5 back from that, and a Apex-i universal. First off I don't need preaching about the straight pipe, but what I do need are ideas and or the best way to get rid of the horrible, loud, and obnoxious noise that is emmited from my exhaust. I really enjoy the power gain, I think. But I am almost emberased buy the rice tone I get at WOT. I've even contemplated taking the bus(J/K). I know I need to get rid rid of the Apex-i, but from there were should I go? I've thought about going with a factory muffler, is this smart or a good option? I know there are many people who have had this dilemna, any and or all help on your quite setup with the y-pipe is always appreciated. Thanks.

1st- Get rid off the straight pipe. 2nd- If you dont have a resonator than have one welded in. 3rd- Dynomax has a quieter and deeper sounding muffler, so if you want get that.

So should my steps be 1, 2, 3, in that order?

id get the muffler and resonator together... it will make the most difference.

i think the straight pipe will make the least amount of difference, so you could get that last.

Just try to get all 3. The straight pipe wont make you faster unless you have f/i. Put your stock cat back in. Have a muffler shop weld a resonator in your b-pipe, I dont think it should be more than $60. And get a dynomax muffler. And then if you want your car to "roar" at WOT without being ricey get an intake.

The apexi you're talking about, the N1 kind, the king of all fart cans, the small POS that can make a damn CObra sound like a weed whacker? That could be your problem. Get a big Oval muffler and be done with it.
