My current pads are worn out, i've heard that kvr pads are good.
should I replace mine with these?

I'd like to get pads that won't fade as much as these one i have now...

Here is my order of preference on the pads I've used. best to worse in terms of performance.

Axxis/PBR Ultimates
Axxis/PBR Metal Masters
Stock Nissan replacements
Raybestos Quietstops (these pads suck in terms of "performance" in my experience they will fade terribly after 5 or so consecutive moderate to hard stops . Worse than stock pads. However if you never will get hard on your brakes then theyre fine. They're very quiet and I only have to wipe gently on my wheels whenever I washed the car if people care more about that than performance ).

And I use Brembo blanks w/ all my pads too

 

I love my Porterfields.. The only bad part is the $80 for just the fronts..

 

Porterfields would be my recommendations also for performance pads. Otherwise OEM Nissan pads.

 

what do you guys think of Hawk HPS pads?

curious, cause on another message board, they're recommending these ones...

OEM Nissan. Quiet, dust free...

 

MUCH agreed. ANY non-OEM pads will squeak and give off hella brake dust. I got Axis Metal Matrix's and I'm dissatisfied with noise and brake dust.

The only way to truly improve braking is bigger rotors or different calipers.

Performance Friction

No noise, no more dust than stock, good performance, low cost.

 

I use metal masters. I was unhappy with the noise initially, but after they broke in they weren't bad. Dust is another story...

Performance Friction are mfg by Porterfield and are only mfg under that name for the front brakes. If you want even higher performance, and for both front and rear, buy Porterfield R4S pads.

 

My performance friction do give off more dust than my OEMs, but they make absolutely zero sound, now with 6k on them (front brakes).

 

Getting performance pads for the rear is kind of pointless... I get generic carbon-metallics for the rear and it gets me into a power slide in the snow when I call on them, so I guess they are doing the one thing I rely on them for.

I get the front pads for about 30 bucks from Autozone. I don't think I could beat that with Porterfields and I go through a set a year.

Different strokes for different folks I guess...

 

Hawk HP+... don't get HPS... you'd be paying too much for regular pads.

I went through 2 sets of Porterfields before I swtiched to Raybestos QS. The Porterfields were awesome but they dusted like crazy. My QS pads don't perform nearly as well but hardly dust at all. I will probably try the Axxis MM pads next.

 

wagner thermoquiets, good replacements for oe. very quiet, some dust, and wear well for nonperformance braking. i paid 'bout $40 and got a ltd lifetime warranty-you gotta ask about the warranty- wasn't a selling point. almost 2 yrs on 'em-28k recently replaced under the warr.

 

EBC GreenStuff pads are good, from my experience with them. They grab harder than you would ever need, and they last pretty long. I think I had mine for like 25K miles.

They do dust a lot, but any pads that are good stopping pads will.
