I hear that there is a "bees in a can" noise when warpspeed is used. (or maybe that's budget) Either way, spring for a roll of 1-2" heat wrap. Not only will this keep the temp of the exhaust down, it will (probably) protect the surface of the y-pipe, and will deafen that unwanted noise. I'll probably go for one of the cheaper y's, and heat wrap it. The motorvate website has a good write up of this.

If you don't really know, maybe it's better not to say anything. This is how misinformation gets spread around.

My Warpspeed y does not make any "bees in a can" noise.

I have never had any problems with "Bees" or anything else for that matter with my warpspeed y pipe!

Okay, I just saw a thread where somebody with a Warpspeed y was having noise problems and needed the flex section replaced.

Most of the problems with the Bees in the can are caused during the installation, or how they ship their product. If the Flex bends you will almost always get that awesome sounds
Heat wrap Does not keep the temperatures down. It will actually run much hotter. This can give you a bit more power if you wrap your entire pipe due to the exhaust flowing quicker because of the higher temperatures.
The Heat Wrap will not protect your Y pipe. It will actually do the contrary by accumulating dust, salt, mud, water, and every other thing mother nature can put on the roads. After several months if you decide to remove your heat wrap the y pipe will look like crap

i agree with optimus...the problems with flex sections appear due to improper installation...mostly in part due to people not using any of the factory hanger section...and just simply letting the y pipe suspend freely...which puts a lot of stress on the flex section...if you don't utilize the atleast one of the factory hangers/brackets, the y pipe is only held up by the cat, and headers and on the other end...

just got my warpspeed y-pipe installed last week and i love it. also no bees in the can sound. however, from what i've read in other threads, a y-pipe combined with an aftermarket exhaust could give you alot of raspiness or bees-in-can. i have nothing done to my exhaust at the moment besides the y-pipe, so i can't comment first hand, but ask around and you'll probably get the same answers.
