Just bought a 99 GLE Maxima today. Looking around a little on the forums, just wanted to know the good and bad about the year from you guys.
Dont want to be scared with hearing 99's were a bad year, but if you could tell me the good and bad about it, I would appreciate it. To late to turn back now since I already bought it. But, it would take a year and a day to search everything, so lets hear it, good with the bad. Thanks.

 

theres 2 think i can think of

1-GLE= auto tranny lags too much
2-99 can't take full advantage of mevi if you buy it in the future because theres no ecu avaliable for 97+ still you can use the 95-96 but cel light on all the time

Well, thanks for the welcome. I know there great cars, my brother in law has a 98 and he had a 93 that he sold to our other brother in law and he kept it till 245,000 miles, till the trans finally went out on it. I was just asking about the 99's because I read something in another thread about best years to buy and was hoping mine wasnt on the DO NOT BUY LIST. I have been checking out this forum for a long time, and lots of good info here. Thanks again.

 

only thing to watch out for on your '99 are those ignition coils
