Just changed the oil after 2000 miles (like always),but now,everytime i start my car the oil light blinks about 3 times very fast and shuts off...checked the oil and everythings fine.What else can it be?

 

I think this is normal.

 

Yes you are correct everything is fine.. Whenever you start your car the oil light comes on for a second with all the other lights.. Tjhen it cranks, starts and the lights go out but the oil light stays on for a second more or flashes because when you start the car the oil pressure it low.. No worries my friend..

my oil light never goes on when i change oil...

 

not when you change oil...its been happening the last maybe 5000 miles.it blinks quick while the rest of the lights are on,and goes out before all the rest (air bag,etc)...but i just wanna know now cuz I have 5000 miles left on my warranty

 

Did you change to a lighter weight oil? Like from 10W-30 to 5W-30? What oil are you running in your Max now?

Have your oil pressure checked, it should be between 15-30 while @ idle, anything lower might make that oil light flicker.

 

That is correct sir. 2000 miles will do NOTHING additional vs changing it at 3,000-4,000.

 

I change mine between 5-7k

i change it every 2500 about,maybe 2600...only cuz i like it running the best it can. I use 3qts 5w30 and 2qts 10w30 or the other way around i think,in the summer...DIGITAL..how can i check the oil pressure?/can I do it?

 

You my friend are one confused ****. using 5w30 and 10w30 make them

I'm surprised you don't use 1/2 dino and 1/2 synthetic for that bestest/most cheapest protection also.

 

If I lived in MA I would only use 5W-30 Syn oil in my Max!!

 

i used to only use 5 qts of 5w...but I know a kid who works at c.a.p. and has been working on/building up maximas for about 5 years who said it was better to do it this way.

 

Well I've working on maximas for 6 years. And I say he doesn't know a lick.

 

You're taking the word of a kid vs nissan that recommeds 5W-30 is the best for year round driving

 

yeah make sure you don't use fram piece of crap oil filters. I used it twice and it was doing that **** to me everytime I would leave the car sitting for more then 10 minutes.

Changed to mobil 1 (I know expensive) but it stopped flashing at me, it goes off once I crank the motor.

I guess it's fine if it flashes but I much rather be sure then sorry. I had my share of engine failures on my hands before.

 

Only way I know is have a mechanic that has a computer to check the oil pressure. I know of no way to do it yourself.
