I notice when i brake i hear a knocking noise til i come to a full stop. I got new x-drilled rotors and pads all around and i still get the knocking noise. Any ideas what this could be? thanx

 

I remember when this happened to me...

It started hapening the FIRST time i had ever done a brake/rotor job on my car. I guess i might have installed em wrong, because all i did was take everything off and put it back on, and it went away...also, make sure everything is tight, and check to c if the pins are lubed up real good..

 

Check the caliper boots (the 2 small about 3/8" diameter boots with bolts in them) that are used to relaese the caliper from squeazing, if they are worn, replace the caliper, or if not just give them a good cleaning and re-greasing.

 

is there a time or mileage just to get new calipers? i have 130k on my max. Do you guys have an idea what stock calipers cost each?
