iac valve ticking?

iac valve ticking?
I just cleaned my IAC valve and reset the idle like it says in the how to's. Now when I listen to my engine idle I can hear the Iac valve making a constant tick. the ticks are about two seconds apart and consistent. Is this normal, should an Iac do this? Help me out please.
