Hello all,

Ward Auto quoted "...revs like no other engine this side of a Ferrari".

Another magazine quoted "Maybe the best V6 in the world".

How many maxima or non-maxima owners feel ?

Thanks

That's why I bought mine. It is an excellent car for the money. Plus you don't have to rice it up to have power!

I agree completely with you rll96se, they are fast enough stock. I had a friend of mine ride in my 97 SE for the first time the other day and he swore I had some mods because he thought it was really fast. They are nice cars with a great engine and a smooth ride. I cant say enough about mine i love it. Take Care

Yeah, love the car. I'm 18 now, I was given the car when i was 17. At first i thought this car was slow cause it was a sedan. Didn't like it at first, then when i drove it by myself, i tried shifting and accelerating hard.. love it now.. very nice engine. Once you get past 3,000 rpm... nice pull =0

There is a reason why the VQ30DE is used in CanAm race cars. It kicks ***.

It's amazing how many NON-Max owners still sleep on the performance of this engine......element of surprise can be a real B*tch under such circumstances :]

My whole family owns Maximas , and for good reason. The acceleration is unmatched, and neither is the quality.

I love mine...

It's so smooth, and it pulls whenever I need it. I do a lot of freeway driving to and from school, and it's perfect. I can't wait to see how the Sentra SE-R does in a full review, since it's QR25DE is pretty much a 4-banger version of our VQ.

I can see it now: Wards says: "This could be the best I-4 ever!"

Re: I love mine...

I do wonder about the I-4 they have coming out. I wonder if it would be as resistent to vibrations and feel as sturdy at high speeds and idling...

I wish I could put the VQ in my Pathfinder. Damn thing's such a pooch! As for the I-4, I'm sure it will still feel like a four banger (you know, the torque thing or lack of) but what's the projected 0-60 and 1/4 mile? I heard it was decent for a 4 cyl.

The 2001 Pathfinders DO have a VQ engine in them, 3.5L in displacement, making 240 HP, 265 Lb.-Ft.

Oh, its a VQ? Well, I got the 168 hp. Maybe I could supercharge it...just need 3g's to burn (yeah right).

Engine code is VQ35DE, its a VQ. Nissan spent MAJOR MONEY on the VQ engine, so it'll be around for quite a while in different sizes and applications.

7 years in a row!! I'm still not sure that it should be compared to a Ferrari, but...I really really love my car!

I second that...I don't know about the Ferarri comparison, I'll let you know when I get mine...But in the mean time I love it. The acceleration continualy impresses me (even with the heavy a*s 20's) and the overall look and performance is unmatched for the money.
