Hello Gang,

Just installed a homemade CAI and it came out prety nice, pics soon. I was wondering what to do about 2 things:

First, The check engine light is on. I assume that is due to one of 2 things. 1st the fact that I disconnected the MAF for awhile, or 2nd, The sensor that was plugged into the top of the Stock Air Box (Not the MAF Sensor), is just zipped tied off to the side. Is there anything I can do about the 2nd sensor & the Check Engine Light, or should I modify the CAI to incoporate that sensor? And still what about the Check Engine Light. My car is a 1995 SE Automatic. Any ideas welcome. Thanks in advance,

Scott

this can easily be taken care of. i am 99% sure that it is your O2 sensor. all you have to do is put the thing that holds the sensor in the stock air box back on to the sensor. you can just use a flathead screwdriver and pry it off. then just use that to cap the O2 sensor and your done. o yeah, reset the ECU.

Good Point, I had alreasdy plugged in the sensor.....

Good Point, My thoughts exactly. I had already unscrewed the sensor base from the top of the Stock airbox, and had the completed cicuit (couldn't think of a better term. Tied off in the engine compartment. So basically the sensor is just sitting there instead of inside the old airbox. But it is plugged in. So woul you then suggest an ECU reset? And would you suggest I go directly to the instructions here:

http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/ecu.html

or would you suggest I go for the battery unhooked for the night first?

Thanks in advance,

scott

just reset it by turning the screw thing on the ECM. i dont think its necessary to do it by disconneting the battery.

OK, ...

...do I turn the silver **** clockwise or counterclockwise to reset the ECU. That is the only thing missing from the instructions. Thanks.
