POLL: "glossy" black or Graphite stock SE rims

Look at my sig and u can see that I've done the graphite rims....I did it kinda sloppy so imma redo them sometime next week or so but I am thinking graphite might not be what I want. I have seen Maximapolak's 5th gen with black stock rims and it looks sweet but he also has a nice deep blue to accent them....what do you think for my 99 SE.....black or graphite?

Well you have that whole "Knight Rider" theme going on, so I'd have to say go with black. I'm not sure if I would go glossy though, IMHO semi gloss would be better looking. Also if your planning to keep the center caps that silver color you might want to invest in a set of longer lug nuts & polish the lip's to accent the look.

Another color that "might not look horribly wrong" is a red color similar to your genII altezza's. It might break up the look or your car a bit, but may fit with the overall scheme of things. Whichever color you go with deffinitly polish the lip's though. It adds that additional touch of class for a DIY project.

red for the entire rim. It "might look decent" since everything on your car is either red or black already. If you plan on stripping the paint thats already on there off before you redo them. You might want to paint on of the wheels red to see how it might look. Keep in mind the red color is gonna look alittle darker since your painting over the dark paint thats already on the wheel. The red color will more then likely be alittle lighter if you paint over the bare metal silver color of the rim.

i'm not sure about the red thing though, might actually look good, but then again it may be alittle on the ricey side. you may as well spray one red to see what you think since you plan on redoing them anyway

Post a link to your pic's. I don't have Photoshop @ the pad, but have something that can give you a crude idea of how it might look. Check out this link http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=339133 I just did some work on another orgers car. Mainly for my own personal use. I don't think he's seen them yet. Your gonna have to scroll down alittle....

Damn bro, I was just trying to do it on the photo you have posted above. I'm not gonna be able to do that type of work without photoshop. It's wouldn't be a big deal accept this lame *** software I'm using doesn't have a transparency adjustment for the sir brush. So when I try to paint with it, it's just coming out like solid red. It looks like dog duty. I'm sorry I wish I could help you out man....

i think red wheels work on certain cars (Maxima not being one of them)...other ppl just hate them completely. I think the se 5 spokes painted red would be ugly

Ya, I'm not really the biggest fan of colored wheels unless there the same color as the car. Colored wheels work best on white or black vehicles IMHO. i just thought he might want to see what a different color might look like since he's planned to redo the paint job on the wheels anyway. It's worth the effort cause if it looks like dog **** it's coming off anyway?

I was debating on taking apart my 3 piece raid wheels apart & painting the centers only the same forrest green metallic color as my Jetta. But I'm debating on if I want to repaint the entire car a different color. Heres a pic http://www.imagestation.com/mypictur...caption=MyJett

Also, heres a picture of my friends GMC that I painted for him a while ago. I did this picture in Photoshop for him so he could see what it would look like completly shaved. Notice the 20" factory GMC wheels. I bet you never seen those non existant wheels before??? lol

heres a pic I just did on NYmax'es ride. Do those headlights look like anything you've ever seen before?

I can save it to my hard drive. But like I said before it's not gonna turn out too good because the software on my computer doesn't have the proper tools. I'll give it my best shot though....

Nick, it would be better if I emailed you both of the pictures I have so you can compare them side by side. Your not gonna be able to compare these side by side off of my imagestation. So if you want to give me your email address & i'll send them to you....

original photo w/ alittle brightness added

reworked wheels photo (VERY CRUDE) This is a 20footer So stand up & walk away from the screen when you look at it. Just to give you an idea of how crappy the software is that I used to produce this picture, just look at how out of round the front wheel is. This is because I cannot retain the curvature by using pretty much solid colors..

Nick here is the larger shot. I had to blow it out using alot of brightness to do the work & then bring the brightness way back down. So the color is way different then the original but the wheels are what your looking at.

Personally I say go with semi gloss black paint & polished lip's.

No problem bro, no hard feelings. The first PS I did was on NYCMaxes ride, mainly for my own personal reasons. He has the chrome grill & I wanted to see how it would look with just the center bar remove, but leave the chrome sides. I did if because I'm thinking about buying a chrome grill & trying this mod. But since I can PS it I can get arough idea if it's gonna look decent or not? So that was my main reason for doing the pictures. And I felt since I did it, it was only right I let the owner of the vehicle now what I did. thats basically the reason you got yours. I could have let it be but I don't wanna be disrespectful to anyone ya know?

Also this kid Nick asked me if I could PS the wheels in red so he could see what it might look like since he's planning on repainting his stock SE wheels soon. I just mentioned to him it would be cool to see what they might look like in red since his car is basically black & red already, so red might go well with his color scheme.

It's all good man, I ain't trying to hurt nobody? No hard feelings or anything like that, just trying to do positive things in this world.
