The CD player portion of my stock 95 Bose head unit has started giving me CD err message everytime i try to play a CD. I love the bose speakers, and have spent money getting new ones already, so i really want to try and keep them and use them with a aftermarket head unit. The only reason that i do not want to get a new/used Bose head unit is that i would rather get one with XM radio and MP3 or WMA playback ability.

Im sure i need some type of ??crossover?? to lower the output of the new head unit to match the correct imput voltage of the Bose speaker/amp setup.

as far as head units go, i have some ideas, but nothing solid as of yet. im trying to find is blaupunkt makes a replacement head unit for the bose setup.

any help for components needed to make this work, i would be very appreciative.

I already have the bose head unit wiring diagram, and for the life of me cannot think of what i referred to as the crossover, but they did sell it at walmart back in the car audio section. i think it was a scosche interface adapter for high end stock car systems, and what settings do i need for it.
