Is this car worth salvaging?
Allright... what we have here is a 1994 Nissan Maxima SE VE automatic 150,000 miles. ran fine up until the wreck.... really great car... knew the previous 2 owners mainly highway miles....lots of good parts.. anways, the buy back price is $790.00 heres a link with pictures... what do you guys think? is it worth is, and how hard do you think it would be to replace the parts that are damaged... keep in mind i do have access to a bunch of parts of a junked 94 SE. any comments suggestions or feedback is appreciated... i have till tomorrow to figure out if i want it or not

Well, one of the motives for fixing the car, was to have something to drive "If and When" i take my real max to the turbo shop to have the turbo installed that ive been runnin my mouth about. But after that, id like to sell it and just get what ever I had into it, plus maybe it could serve as funds for the turbo project its self
How much did you get paid out on it? I'd only buy it if
1) It still ran okay (but it looks like there some suspension damage)
2) If you thought there was about $1,000 in parts.
I bought my old wreck back for about that much. But I got paid $6500 for it also. My buyout was $1500. BUT, I had Eibachs/Tokicos/60 mi VE, 5-sp, leather interior, 17" wheels, tires, rsb, y pipe, intake, exhaust, fidanza, act clutch etc........ Definately more than $1,500 worth of stuff on there.

I'm not exactly sure how much she got paid out on the car, i dont think they actually cut her a check yet. Im guessing prob somewhere around 3-4gs if she's lucky...The car runs perfect, no problems what so ever, except what you see...and im thinking about $0 in parts, like i said i have another car to get parts from...my whole thing is just the labor and paint... i think i could handle the suspension part, but getting that rear fender off... i dont know... is there a seem where its welded together at the post or would i have to cut away?
Doing a rear quarter panel is a pretty complicated process. One of the guys on this section did it. But then again, he's pretty handy with a paint gun and welder. Actually, if you have to ask how to do it, I'd just get your $ and let them keep the car. I'd personally fight for more $ but that's me.

ya, i think i know the guy you are refering to awsme66? i emaild him, so hopefully he'll get back to me shortly... and I just confirmed the parts car, so i dont know, looks like i might be going back to iowa for a couple of weeks. plus my dad just had surgery today so im thinkin he might need someone to look after him... kind of ironic. our parents are supposed to look after us, not vice versa!
