climate control lights.

Somehow all four of my climate control bulbs blew. I read one of the mods to change them to leds using "4 Blue LEDs (Radio Shack part #276-311 which are rated at 300 mcd's, handle 30 mA and use 5 volts)", but I'm not prepared to solder in resistors and do a rewire; just want to replace them with a factory-type part.
Does anyone know what the specs/ratings on the factory bulbs? I've got them apart from the little brown connector pieces, but am not sure what to replace them with.
Thought about getting them local from nissan but they only have three in stock and they're $8 a piece; too much $ if I have some bigger issue and they're all going to blow again.
Thanks!

The brown piece is part of the actual bulb assembly (i.e. the new part will already be mounted in the brown base). Go to jrnissanparts.com - you can get all 4 for under 15 bucks shipped. Don't forget to use the "maxima" promo code.

Cheers.

Thanks, njmodi... I may go that route.
But say, for instance, I was really impatient and wanted to replace them with something from radioshack and fit them in to the brown connectors... any idea what ratings I'd be looking at?

I don't know the ratings... I hesitated to just blindly replace mine, but then I just took the plunge and they have been fine since. (All 4 blew on mine too at one shot).

right on... I'll go ahead an order them from jerryrome... As far as you know, does it matter whether the +/- match up? or will the new bulbs only go in one way?
Thanks for the post!

you don't happen to know the part# of the brown base and bulb do you???
Do you know if that is the same part as those in the heated seat switch?
I tried jrnissanparts.com and was unable to find that part.

I have the part number at home (for my 96) - I'm sure its the same for your 97. You can just call JR Nissan - they'll hook you up - make sure you tell them - its for the automatic climate control... I can get the part number to you tonight - so you can make sure its the same one... I just got the part number off them and placed the order online so that I could take advantage of the extra discount.

it is very easy to do the leds. if you are going to do it order form a guy off ebay. cwithk. He is the best. he gives you leds and resistors for about 10 for $3 shipped. It is very easy to do. if you are going the led route go with 4000mcd led's cause the climate control lights do not light up as well as everything eles.
