1995 Maxima GXE-Sluggish Acceleration and Rough Idle

Took the car wirh 147,000 miles on a long ride (380) miles to and from. Car loses about 400 RPM in Idle and hesitates on acceleration. Replaced Water Temp Sensor due to code. Check engine light now off. Have not had a tune up in a while. Could it be that or something more serious?

Thanks for your help.

killcrap, LOL, what do you mean about the idle at 600-700 rps. Is that normal or bad? Does is signify the coils are going bad?

normal idle when engine has warmed up is between 550-650 for manual and 600-750 rpm's for auto. if your car is hesistating then the ignition coils are bad i believe. ohm them out they should give a reading of 1 (infinite resistance)

Thanks. At this point I think I will try a tune up. Can anyone supply list of items for a 120K tune up? Can I use Bosch Plantinum or must I use the expensive NGK plugs?

Thanks

My car is running really bad and the check engine light is back on. Should I bite the bullet and take it to the dealer?
