hey guys i have a 2000 maxima and a bunch of stuff i want to hardwire. first off were the neons. i attempted to power them by tapping into the ashtray light like ive heard many people use but the second time i touched the wires (properly of course) i blew a fuse. little did i know this was the same fuse as the taillights and corners. anyone know why a neon that doesnt take much power at all would blow a fuse??

back to my orginal question... whats the best wire to tap into for minor electronics in a 5th gen (2000-2001)? thanks

 

yeah, i used the light on my ashtray for my 4th gen. that fuse is probably meant to handle the load put to the taillights, corners, and ashtray light. i'm not sayin go with a bigger fuse, cause it might not be safe, but it's worth a try.
