man terry, the shop that i had rebuild my lsd did a bad job...1st and 2nd gear synchros (the ones they supposedly replaced) are getting hard to work, and going out of 2nd/into 3rd is tough if i don't rev-match. i think i might just find a 5th gen tranny.

how u doin?

nope, no blahco here. jeffy/candi co bbk

the rotors used by that other company are oem nissan rotors, which are zinc coated not to rust. my rotors are cheapo $30 napa rotors, so they rust. like i said in post #1, they still need to be painted

Casey, paint those beotches up man. I used engine paint in shiny black. It's held up pretty well for the quickie job I did on them.

Nice to see another Jeff/Candiman 13" Cobra rotor/300z caliper upgrade out there. I've only sold about 25 sets so far.

You can get them that way if you wish. As you could the Cobra rotors also. If you want to pay extra.

and to clarify, i do not know what kind of coating NISSAN uses on their OEM rotors. i'm assuming they are zinc coated.

hey jeff, yeah josh and i are talking about it right now. i'm thinking i should paint the rotor silver so that it's mostly unnoticable...but josh is going to take pics of his right now, and he painted them black like you (apparantly) so i'll be able to make a choice in a few minutes

yeah, i'm wondering what happened to everyone. i still have a spare set of rings/brackets in my toolbox

Is it safe to paint your rotors? I guess the paint where the pads touch will just rub off?

no, you have to be smart and paint only the part that the pad doesn't hit

paint will prolly clog the pads and destroy them, but i honestly don't know.

it can be done!!! i asked about this awhile back cuz my rotors rust really bad... this link was given to me! and it gives me ideas for my upcoming project!

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/133107/2

well i'm 99% sure the 13" rotor/300z caliper setup that i'm running won't clear 16 inch wheels, but you can run a straight 300zx setup and i bet that would fit...not worth the money, in my opinion, though. look in the GD forum for a guy named derrick, he'll hook you up right.

shrug...i've had it for two years plus now, so i'm completly used to it and i hate riding in stock fluffy cars...i guess one could consider it just a little rough on rough roads, otherwise it behaves normally.

you can paint your rotors and calipers while they're on the car without masking anything off. the paint will burn off of the surface of the rotor where the pad sits without doing any damage to the pads or rotors. just make sure you give it some gas when you go to move after they dry, the pads tend to stick to the rotor and needs to break free. the scraping noise will go away in about 1/2 a day.

Um I wouldn't really recommend that. Plus the rotor is very easy to take off. You can overlap a LITTLE but don't go crazy like those idiots on the VW boards! hahahaha
