cleaning the engine bay
cleaning the engine bay
Im going to go and clean the engine bay today. I dont think it has been cleaned since 89 lol.
on my old car all I really had to do was cover up the air intake and make sure that the lid was over the fuse box and then all I would do is spray it down with de-greaser, turn the car on and let it run till it got hot and let it stay there for about 3 or 4 minutes. pop the hood spray it down with water, do it again if I didnt get it all off. then spray tire cleaner on everything and turn the car back on for another 3 or 4 minutes and then pop the hood again and my engine would look brand new.
Is there anything else that Im going to need to cover up? I dont want to end up blowing something or cracking anything b/c its hot and the water is cold. is there anything that I need to watch out for. should I do it when the engine is cold?
Thanks for your help, Nathan
