Drag Radials, what size?

What size drag radials would you recommend to mount on some Mazda Millenia wheels?

Current mod list:
HAI
budget y-pipe
2.25" catback w/o resonator and a maxspeed muffler
sprint springs/AGX's 4/8
G-Force ECU
Ported TB
Exedy Stage 1
Fidanza

Would 225/50 15s be good?

Yep, they're ideal for the 4th gen with the stock intake manifold because the shorter height will allow to cross the finish line right at peak power in 4th gear.

I already asked this in the other millenia wheel thread, but I forgot to mention I am supercharged...would you guys still recomend 225/50's for a Supercharged US manifold? Thanks for the help.

Is there a reason both of you would rather have DRs than real slicks (such as driving on them to the track, etc).

yes, that is the reason I want them...for the simple fact that you can have them on your car when on a highway. Also I am not a hard core drag racer yet...I want to hook better but not hook so hard that I am breaking something every time at the track

If you are concerned about traction, get slicks and don't mess around. DRs will only be a little stickier than good street tires. I honestly don't see me getting anything better than a 2.10 60' with my DRs. I will need a little more power off the line to do that kind of 60', but even if I had the power, I don't see how these DRs will do anything better than a 2.10.

Jime has never seen 2.0s with his DRs, with or without nitrous. But, with slicks, he's seen 1.7s. So, get slicks and smile from ear to ear.

I hear what you are saying but honestly I am dont think my tranny and axles would hold up to dead hooks for very long

well, I've snapped two axles completely in half so far this year. the first was on my sawblades and the second was on my SSRs. I don't want to go for a number 3.

Kindof sounds like wheelhop or bad axles or both to me. Some guys are putting down way more power AND launching way harder (Mardigras, Jime, Hal etc) and have never had axle problems. Anyways if you guys have a dyno post it up and I will do some playing around with cartest and trying different tire sizes to see what tire size will work best with your powerband. Also if you have any mods you definately plan on getting that you want factored in, it's always good to think about the future.

I have a dyno up in the dyno section

- I am adding a straight pipe to my 2.5" exhaust, and also going with a PF TB...but neither one of those will make much of a difference...also when I go back to the dyno I will tune the A/F to 12:1. I dont know if a few more ponies will cause a change in tire selection?

well neither one of them was wheel hop. so i guess it was two bad axles? i dunno. but the last one was on my SSRs and I launched at 3500 and pow broken axle. the last one i think was caused when some kid backed up into me car and hit my driverside fender/wheel. i think that weakened the axle enough so that the next time i went to the track all that stress i put on it caused it to break but i didn't even launch hard at all. O was riding the clutch out and made it like 10 ft before the axle broke.

i'll see if i can find my last dyno. i think i have it on here somewhere.
