When I picked my car up today after having the RT installed b/c my other cat went out, I asked if there were any problems with the fit. He told me couldn't get the heat shield from the old cat to fit back on, so it's in my trunk right now.

Does the RT have a heat shield built in? Do I need to worry about getting the old one on, and how should I do it?

Thanks
Dom

Don't worry about it, the heat shield does not fit on a RT cat. Just think of it as loosing a few extra punds of junk.

I think the only reason the heat shield is there is because if you drive over real dry grass or other flamable materials it will prevent a possible fire. So just don't park your car in a field of dry grass or on a pillow.

There is a heatshield on the RT Cat... smaller but it's there... The upper one is fastened onto the body of the car...
