what kind of exhaust to get

what catback exhaust systems are available for my 92SE that can fit it without any modifications. All I know of so far is the Stillen exhaust. What about magnaflow?

Custom build a 2.25" catback w/o resonator with a Summit Racing Turbo muffler (less than $20)or a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler(about $70). Don't worry, they are chambered mufflers and won't drone as much as a true straight through.

everyone talks about ricing **** up and what not....I thought the term rice, was only meant for 4 cylinder cars, via rice burner because of the gas mileage.....didnt really know that you could "rice" out a v6...just something for thought

i'm looking for an exhaust that doesn't cost much and that doesn't make a loud ghetto noise, but that will add some horsepower to my car.

Cut off the muffler and run a pipe using exhaust clamps. It'll cost you less than $10.

Just buy a cat-back from warpseep. Then you will have a Magnaflow (?) muffler and a kick *** y-pipe and cat behind it.

SD is so great, because you can do stuff like that. As for a V6 not sounding like rice, throw a matrix muffler on there and then tell me that. OH WAIT, there's no way you could. But for those that like to have a deep sounding exhaust (aka, none rice) try a magnaflow, flowmaster, Ravin, or Rhemus.

I can't wait for internetautomar now, but I think I'll beat him to the punch. So all he has to do now is put up his link. "I sell all of those", which by the way, I did not see Rhemus on your listings for mufflers.

Basicly as far as I can tell, it's germany's version of Ravin. They sound just about the same, but I can't say for sure on that. Hopefully when I get back from this desert hell hole, I'll have orders to Germany.

dont lissen to any of them .. get full system with some kind of muffler (no strait through stuff) im running a custom cat-back with a wsp Y and a cheepo DTm muffler.. i first put it on with no resonator... omg LOUD! .. very deep but loud! as all hell. i had to get something to tone it down.

idea! - custom cat back with a light muffler where the stock resonator is and a strait flow muffler at the end(for looks)

I never added Remus to my line card, because they didn't have any universals or direct fit for the MAX. I haven't checked lately though.
Personally I'm running no muffler and No resonator at the moment.
That will change shortly though

For those of you that have put flowmaster mufflers on your Maximas, which one do you have on there? 30, 40, 50 series?

i personally wouldn't get any flowmaster. but if you want one.... definitely stay away from the 40 series. way, way, way too much droning at speed and it doesn't quite sound right on a v6. the flowmasters are also just the opposite. they don't flow all that well due to the internal design. all of the "reflectors" inside cause a huge decrease in flow which will most likely increase back pressure quite a bit. i'd personally go with a magnaflow or similar straight through design.

You might want to check again on Rhemus then. I just got a catalog from Germany, and thought I saw universal listed. I don't have the catalog in front of me right now, it's back in the states, and I'm stuck in the desert. Let me know if they are starting to offer universals, I'm thinking of getting one.

My warpspeed b-pipe and mangaflow stainless muffler have served me well for a few years now, on two different maxes.

i have magnaflow myself. with the turbo and straight through exhaust its only loud at 2,000 rpm but that's only outside. there is hardly any droning at all. droning at 2 grand is noticable but not near as annoying as the flowmaster was. soon i'll be upgrading to a 3 inch magnaflow race series or i'll just be running no exhaust period and just use the downpipe. its not all that loud due to the turbo plus droning is non-existant when the exhaust is up there. i'll check back with how everything sounds at that time.

nope no dual kit, single is cooler anyways.. dual is ricy

-if u have the money to toss around i would try to make the 350z/g35 sounds.. i would reseach their exhaust and get thoes exact parts. im sure they have some advanced muffler that helps it make that wonderful sound.., i remember reading somthing about nissans "trap door" muffler. with enough pressure the muffler's internals open up and let sound out.. .. am i just making this up as i go along?? i dont remember..

yeah... i wouldn't really call dual ricey. 300zx TT, 350Z, most fast rwd cars that have a V type engine, etc.

6 inch folger's can is ricey as is a very raspy exhaust that is overly loud.
