Just purchased "new" 1988 wagon. just joined here. In the am it takes several miles until car shifts from 3rd to 4th. Like it needs to warm up?? I have scheduled a trans fluid change but, another owner told me his maxima(s) all
did same thing. Any ideas would be helpful.

Also, I drive 65 miles ONE WAY to work. any mods/changes for better gas mileage would be appriciated.

Your car cant go into overdrive until it has warmed up sufficently. It takes some time if you live in a cold climate. But its normal. The trany fluid change is a good Idea.
