I am confused. If ground control coilovers are $400 approximately, what else do you need to buy with them?

And would it require some modifications to put them on a 95, like the koni inserts do?

Nevermind, someone please describe what is necessary to purchase in addition to ground controls, for a complete suspension replacement.

Thanks.

today i just installed my stillen camber plates u will need them if your car is slammed all the way down like my car because camber will be way off and u will have tire ware unless u put the camber plates in and for the shocks if u slam the car all the way down car will be realy bouncy the shocks in the front and the back will have like 1.4' of travel so it cat obsorb the bups when u hit the so the best thing to do is get koni or kyb shocks with the ground-control coilovers or just get (Cattman coilovers they are around $1500-1700 but they come with camber plates adjustible shocks and coilover springs it make a complete and real coilover kit). not like ground-control u just get the spring and the coil get cattman.

Dude try that again using some punctuation.

The last five or six words almost answered my dumb question.

So I guess ground control coilovers are just a spring? Then how are they adjustable from 0-3''. And I will need shocks separately?

Hmmm. Stay with me maximadan96, and please separate your thoughts a little better.

Thanks

Did you install the coilovers yourself? was it difficult? And would i need camber plates regardless if my car is slam?

GC are not worth it

Ground Controls are not worth the money. They are threaded sleeves that go over the strut/shock and allow ride height adjustability by turning a ring up or down on the sleeve. The Ground Control comes with the springs and threaded sleeves.

You will have to change your factory struts cause they won't handle the slammed ride. I have tokicos with Ground Control and the ride is terrible. Konis seem the be the right way to go.

In my opinion get a set of H&R for the comfy ride or Sprint for low look and stiffer ride. On top of that, change the struts as well.

The reason why GC are not worth they money is because once I adjust it to the height I want, it stays there. What I mean is that although they are adjustable, it is not likely you'll be adjusting them frequently at all - hence, the adjustability is not necessary. A good set of springs is the better way to go.

id recommend changing your struts when you do Ground Controls or springs, i have my Max lowered about 3" and my camber was only off 1 degree so camber bolts fixed my prob, although AFTER i made my alignment perfect my tires rubbed the fender

worth it?

the question of whether or not GCs are "worth it" might depend on where you live, and what you plan on doing with the car. i live in michigan (read: SNOW) and i dont like being a snowplow in the winter, so i like to raise my vehicles up in the winter. by the same token, i dont like being a skyscraper in the summer, so coilovers are definately worth it, you get the best of both worlds. also, if someone is planning on showing their car, many times people like to slam their ride REAL low for shows but dont like to drive with it that low on the street, so they are worth it again in this instance. however if you live in a warm climate where you dont need to worry about snow and dont have any intention of ever changing the ride height once it's set, then yeah, i'd say go with the lowering springs of your choice.
