New WS Y-Pipe Deal Still $160 Shipped!!!!

If we can get just 10 people the price is $160 shipped for 1989-2001 and $185 shipped for 02-03 for the aluminum Y-Pipe from WarpSpeed.

185 shipped it pretty cheap (dont understand why its not 160 )
one question though. I live in boston... how long do you think this "aluminum" WS Y-pipe last before it rusts and corrodes versus SS.

I was also originally thinking stainless steel since I go to school in upstate NY but the thing to take into account is your factory y-pipe is aluminum and I haven't heard of any problems with rusting. Mine's been through 7 winters so far with no rusting. Depends how long you plan on keeping it.

what i saw on WS website - 2000-506 All FED/CA 2002-2003 $199.00 and its madrel bent. MADREL BENT IS THE BETTER ONE RIGHT?

185 shipped instead of 199 isnt bad, but i thought we would get more of a discount..... just my 2 cents.

Yo Maximo, did ya get the y-pipe yet? Which one did ya get? SS and mandrel bent? Just curious... lemme know how it is when ya get it installed.... I'm still holding out waiting for a used Cattman or something (I know, that's almost impossible).... I'm actually toying with the idea of headers too.... another dream......

Nismotic is right...I just ordered mine along with the converter for $245.00 shipped. The y-pipe is still $160.00.

im always right damnit.

and for those of you who are afraid of rusting, your stock y pipe is made of the same stuff, and its lasted you this long.

stainless steel DOES rust as well, but not as quick.

I am still saving to buy a SS y pipe, because live in NY and want it to last me longer. The original y pipe is aluminium but is almost twice as thick than the aftermarket one, that's why lasts long time. When putting any aluminium pipes they get brown color the first few days after raining or snowing.
By the way do you know if fuel economy will decrease a lot after putting y pipe?

I believe the $199 regular price doesn't include shipping though, I could be wrong.

Theoretically, since you increase power throughout the entire powerband, your mpg would increase because your engine is more efficient. My alumumim Y-pipe didn't have any problems with the 2 years I had the car, No rust problems. According to the FAQ page on WSP website, an aluminum pipe should last somewhere upwards of 7 years. If you don't plan on keeping your car that long, go ahead and get an aluminum one.

Thats coming from Warpspeed, though. Of course they are gonna say their product lasts a long time. It all depends on if you have bad winters with lots of salt or not. If you do, aluminum will rust out in a few years.

On the site, they are saying aluminum in general. Have you checked your stock Y-pipe? Its made from aluminum, along with the B-pipe, Is there any surface rust building up on it yet (not the exhaust shield)? I'm sure you have rust since its a 9 year old car BUT on my sisters 99 TL, my totalled 00 Accord, the downpipes, which again are made from aluminum, show no signs of rusting. These are from a 4-5year old car and we live in Sioux Falls, SD where its cold in winter, salt on the roads, and snow and blizzard storms. I don't think thickness would matter with rust development, just on how long the rust will detoriate the pipe over time. I think it'll take time (years) before the aluminum would develope rust unless you submerge the car for weeks or months.

Again, I stand by this....IF YOU DON'T PLAN ON KEEPING YOUR CAR SOMEWHERE UPWARDS OF 7 YEARS, AN ALUMINUM PIPE WILL SERVE ITS PURPOSE FINE IN NORMAL USEAGE.

blah, if ya want an SS and can justify the higher price, more power to ya

Say I were to buy the Y-pipe, and install it to my stock system without doing anything else.....what would the results be, and would it be worth the money?

results would be hp gain. as most ppl say on this board, at least on the 3rd gen, it is the best bang for the buck. i have one and i feel the car launch faster and accelerate faster. check this site out. the budget ypipe looks similar to the ws y pipe and has basically the same sizes the ws has. http://www.motorvate.ca/mvp.php/519

actually, since u have a 5th gen, it would be almost crap to you, especially w/the warpspeed one. there is a thread about the horrible fitment and very low hp gain.

That page is a ringing endorsement for the budget y-pipe. A couple of questions though, was this done on a 5th gen and how does the budget y-pipe compare to warpspeed's?

To answer your question about installing a warpspeed on your 5th gen, refer to the post directly before yours.

not too sure about budgets.

I think Budget comes out to around $215 shipped. Used to be about $190 shipped, but the currency rates are changing

The choice of aluminum vs. SS is up to you. Aluminum might start rusting, but the stock pipe is aluminum and it holds up fine.

Do you think the WSP Aluminum Y-Pipe will be lighter than the Stainless Steel?
