I just bought them for $20 from ebay seller amazing_deals. Hope they are good, I heard they are better than stock and that's what I am hoping before I could get bi-xenon projectors with HIDs.

but then again, even the stock 9004 bulbs suck in wet weather.

If you do a lot of night driving, I would not recommend them. They have one of the shortest rated lives (~ 150 hrs low beam) of any 9004 bulb.

If you go to Sylvania's website, you will find the following rated lives:
9004 Silverstar - 150 hrs low beam - 50 hrs high beam
9004 Xtravisions - 220 hrs low - 145 hrs high
9004 Standard - 320 hrs low - 150 hrs high

Here is the link
http://www.sylvaniaautocatalog.com/s...&FigNumber=136

I bought a set when they first came out and they lasted about 6 months. Light output and colour were pretty good but bulb life is terrible.

Case closed ... he's absolutely right. I liked the way they looked (noticably whiter than stock) and they lit up reflective objects a bit better, but I decided it wasn't worth paying $180 a year (for heads and fogs) to replace them every six months or so. And as mentioned in an earlier post, light output drops drastically in wet nighttime conditions.

Cool looking bulbs.
Suck for longevity....didn't even last one year.
Stockers are actually brighter, but don't look as "white." It is not worth it at all, IMO, to get Silvercraps....I mean.....stars.

I agree they look nice but thats all they have going for them. They wear out quick, suck for visability, and are not as bright as one would think.

well in bad wather whiter bulbs suck. yuou gotta get yellow colored. That si why is why fog lights are suppose to be yellow. I had a set in my fogs for about 2 months and they blew, the light looked okay comapared to stock, i wouldn not buy them again. I have heard some praise them, and some hate them. i am in between. don't like em, don't hate em.

I would say that stock ones too are too bad in wet night-time conditions ... even after the rain stops, wet roads are hard to see with the stock ones ...

I agree wth your statement, but I personally thought Silverstars were worse in wet nighttime conditions. With my stock bulbs, I remember at least being able to tell that my headlights were, in fact, turned on.

There are really only two options: if you've got some cash to spend, buy HIDs. You'll never regret it, especially with projectors. If you want better light without spending more than $30 or so, do the 9007 conversion. I have yet to read one negative opinion regarding the 9007s. There's an A+ thread somewhere in this forum. I chose the former and got HIDs. I absolutely love them, despite the fact that I lack projectors and high beams. The high beams I can live without, but I'm working on the projectors. I can't wait to spend time at the junkyard - always at least one steal to be had.

But anyway, buy Silverstars if your heart tells you to and your wallet doesn't complain.

thx for the advice .. i already bought them from ebay for under $20 Those pics that I posted are my car's! I am yet to put the second bulb though!!

Well, I'm just keepin the stocks ones with me too, just in case if I too find them terrible in winter weather. For now, since I only had stock ones on in wet weather, I can say that they are bad!

Buying bi-xenons might be my next summer project

Meanwhile, 9007 is doable but haven't thought abt it yet.
